2023 Marine Program Lecture Series Coming to a Brewery Near You

You asked and we listened - we’re taking our Brewery Lecture Series on tour this year!

We loved our monthly residency at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company’s Peconic location last year, but received feedback that this location was a little out of range geographically for some of our audience.  We of course want to reach as many people as possible with the interesting and informative lectures of the talented experts and educators of CCE Marine Program, so this year we are offering these events at several locations throughout the North and South Forks and centrally in Riverhead. Our local brewery partners have been so supportive of us and our work, and we are grateful for their hospitality.  So catch us at Greenport Harbor Brew Co, North Fork Brew Co., Westhampton Beach Brew Co., and Kidd Squid for fun evenings of marine science with a side of delicious craft beer.  If you register in advance you will be entered to win a great raffle prize featuring artwork, apparel and other goodies.  

So far this year we’ve featured lectures on sustainable seafood by our Fisheries Team, and last month we had our Volunteer Coordinator Hazel Wodehouse presenting on horseshoe crabs and how to get involved with our Tiana Bayside Horseshoe Crab Monitoring Site!  Coming in May we’ll be talking oyster reefs at Greenport Harbor Brewing in Peconic - hope to see you there.  If you can’t make it, we’re pleased to announce we will be recording most of the lecture sessions and they will be available on our Media Page for your viewing enjoyment!
