About

The Buoys for the Bays Art + Science Initiative is designed to raise awareness and funding to support the work of Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program’s Back to the Bays Initiative.

Local artists and public participants turn reclaimed fishing buoys into marine-themed works of art! Buoys will be displayed in a special exhibit and auctioned off in support of our bays on Saturday, July 11 at 5:30pm at Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue!

Welcome to the Buoys for the Bay Art Exhibit Opening Celebration + Auction! Join us at Borghese Vineyard for a night of art, wine, and community. Get ready to bid on unique buoys transformed into stunning works of art by local artists.

Reclaimed fishing buoys have been transformed into artwork by local artists and community members. Buoys will be featured in a silent auction to benefit Back to the Bays.

Also celebrating the release of the new vintage of the Back to the Bays Rosé, the wine that gives back! Featuring an oyster raw bar by a local oyster grower and refreshments.

Help transform these reclaimed buoys into beautiful works of art to benefit CCE Marine Program’s Back to the Bays Initiative.

We are seeking responses from local artists of all levels willing to create and donate “Buoys for the Bays” to be showcased and auctioned at our July 11th opening reception.

No fee to participate, all artists are welcome!

Buoy Painting Parties

Create your own piece of buoy art to be included in our exhibit, which will be on display from July 11 - September 7th.

Join Back to the Bays Resident Artist Carolyn Munaco as she guides you through painting a reclaimed buoy at Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue.

$30 Admission includes all the painting materials and instruction from artist, Carolyn Munaco, plus a complimentary glass of Rose for the Bays, and a Back to the Bays Stewardship Package!
