May is for the Meadows
May 12th, 10-2pm we are offering open volunteer hours when staff will be on site and welcome any time you can contribute. Our Marine Meadows Team is hard at work growing and preparing native grasses to help restore our marine habitats. Dune grass has a dense root system that prevents erosion, and the grasses provide an important habitat for nesting shore birds like the Piping Plover.
Join us in tending to the plants in our nursery after a long winter and help us get these plants ready for future restoration planting.
This event specifically involves cleaning up planting beds and dividing plants to give them space to expand and grow. Tools are provided, although if you would prefer to use gardening gloves it is recommended that you bring your own pair.
