Meditative Beach Walk ~ April 30 10-11 AM @ Southold

Education and Outreach

Tiana Bayside Facility offers a truly unique setting for marine science and art education. Students and adults alike can explore the diversity of life within the marine habitats surrounding the facility, including the Atlantic ocean beach and dunes, the calm waters of Shinnecock Bay, salt marshes, sand flats, and eelgrass meadows.

CCE Marine staff host a multitude of seasonal programming focused on marine science, environmental stewardship, and integrated STEAM Art + Science curricula. Youth enjoy our Bayside Adventures, ArtSea, and Marine Art + Science camp-style summer programs.

This site also serves as prime Field Trip destination for connecting local schools, libraries, families, scouts, and community groups to our diversity of marine species and habitats.

Stewardship and Restoration

Tiana Bayside Facility provides a dedicated space for community involvement in our diverse array of habitat and shellfish restoration projects being conducted in Shinnecock Bay and Southampton Town waters. Local community members can take part in hands-on stewardship, including:

  • Marine Meadows Eelgrass Workshops

  • Oyster Reef Deployments

  • Bay Scallop + Hard Clam Seeding

  • Coastal Plant Gardening + Beach Grass Propagation

  • Seahorse + Horseshoe Crab Population Surveys

    and more!
