Brew for the Bays at Kidd Squid: A Recap

On May 30th, Back to the Bays had the pleasure of collaborating with Kidd Squid Brewery for our Brew for the Bay release party. Proceeds from beer sales directly support the shellfish and habitat restoration work that is being conducted in the waters off of Sag Harbor.

We had an incredible turnout and the Back to the Bays staff is grateful for the community coming out to support our bays, enjoy live music, chat with other guests, and taste the new brew.

The ambiance of the event was great, as people were chatting, laughing, and learning about what Back to the Bays does with our habitat restoration specialists. We even had the Mayor of Southampton come out to support what we do.

At this event we had tanks of live animals- such as spider crabs, green crabs, scallops, whelks, and mussels, and some of these species are benefited by supporting this habitat restoration. Behind our tank display, we had a kids table where we had clam shells and scallop shells to draw and color on.

It was fun to see all the different designs that everyone was creating. We also had a temporary tattoo station, which was a hit for everyone. These tattoos featured artwork by Back to the Bays artist Carolyn Munaco.

We would like to thank everyone who attended this event and/or purchased our beer in collaboration with Kidd Squid for making this collaboration possible. This was such a fun way to continue to help our bays!
